The Crewe Arms is a Victorian-era railway hotel, "bursting to the brim with character and comfort", according to the hotel website.

According to a local media website, Cheshire Live, "An iconic hotel near Crewe railway station has been closed to the public with no reason given by the owners."

The reason, which has not been reported since, is that it has been filled up with illegal immigrants from the Middle East.
